In the current difficult trading conditions, some companies understandably cut back on expenditure. However, the forward thinking organisations realise that this is in fact the time when they need to ensure that their sales teams have the right skills and competencies, and are working as efficiently and smartly as possible. In partnership with another leading local consulting company, GMR has delivered a series of workshops themed on “Sales Professionalism” to a major, all Ireland, telcommunications company. Results so far have been excellent, and management intend to roll out the programme further across the company.

Information Technology is a major investment, but one that can pay big dividends if the appropriate systems are implemented correctly. It is vital to review these systems on a regular basis to ensure they continue to be fit for purpose, and offer value for money. GMR Consulting has been engaged by a local organisation to carry out just such a review, looking at applications, infrastructure, usage and overall implementation. The findings will be presented to the Board with recommendations for change accompanied by an action plan.

As recent events in London have demonstrated, your business can be placed in jeopardy or destroyed overnight. Thankfully, a number of local businesses have decided not to tempt fate but to engage GMR Consulting to develop their own Business Continuity Plan to protect as far as possible against a range of potential disasters. It is worth noting that achievement of several of the ISO 9000 family of Quality Standards may require you to have a BCP. Additionally, many Public Sector Contracts now require tenderers to submit a BCP with their proposal. In short, it safeguards your business, reduces risks and minimises financial losses should you be unfortunate enough to suffer a disaster.
